3D Paintings

Ever since I was young I couldn't draw. That explains the Fs that I always get. But because of this, I always admire people who can draw really well.

I do not know where these paintings originate from. In fact, it should be considered as graffiti isn't it? *Admires*

Performance

Due to popular demand, I'm just gonna post some pictures of the performance that day at Cineleisure K Box.

In case you guys didn't know, this is a performance by the students of Echo Music School. And imagine the shock Dear had when she reached K Box only to find out that she had to be the MC together with Mr Neo. Hahaha. But don't worry, you guys did well, no matter what other people say. It's always like that. They only know how to criticize, but put under the same situation as you guys, they will perform like shit.

All I can say after checking out the performance, is that there are REALLY alot of people out there who can sing, or play instruments damn well.

Dear and Neo hosting.

I like this couple's performance. Too bad they look dead when playing. Like this.

Over The Hedge + Singapore Idol

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

A very cute but short movie.

When a raccoon, AJ, got caught for stealing a bear's food, he had 1 week to replace them when he accidentally pushed the entire cart onto the road, and it got run over by a vehicle. He then decided to go find hope in a new housing estate.

The tortoise, Verne, and his family woke up from their long winter nap to find the forest gone, and what replaced them are houses and humans. Just when they were thinking on how to solve their food problem, AJ appeared and fooled them into helping him sneak into the human's homes and steal their food.

While the rest of the family were enthusiastic about helping AJ, Verne didn't. He felt that it was wrong, and that AJ's fooling them. From being the leader in the family, he became the outcast, and AJ took over him.

In the final act of stealing, when everyone found out that AJ was stealing the food not for themselves, but rather for the bear, they were naturally disappointed. While AJ managed to escape, the rest of them were caught by this weird exterminator. Guilt started to take over AJ, and he decided to save Verne and family. In the end, they cleverly managed to win both the bear, the exterminator and this lady that they were trying to steal from.

Rating: 7.5/10

Comments: A good movie overall, but not worth watching it over the weekend, unless you have a kid that is younger than, say, 8 years old.

If you guys watched the first episode of Singapore Idol 2006, you would know who these guys are. The most absurd one is the kungfu rapper. I feel that he's worse than Steven Lim. He's just a joker out that who wants attention. Sadly, this kind of attention is irritating, and I don't feel like seeing him anywhere, either on TV or in real life.

And what is it about Singaporeans taking English as our first language, and yet they turn out like that? It's amazing to see so many people who can't speak proper English, or at least sound normal.

And please. No lip gloss for me.

Photo Taking With Phone

Wanted to try out how the pictures would turn out to be with my new Nokia 6280.

Looks good on the phone, but not on my desktop screen though. Disappointed.

My new specs. Cost me $180!

I'm gonna use this phone to take pictures of my dear performing tomorrow! *prays that I can make it*. Dear friends, please do not kill me if I cannot make it to the performance. It's the damn big shit that's happening in camp that forced me to miss it, not that I want to miss it. Why would I want to miss it!?

Taxi Driver

Sometimes a simple chat session with a taxi driver can be really entertaining. I just had one earlier.

One of the topics we were talking about were the manners of the passengers who take taxis. The lady passenger he had before me complained that his aircon is too cold, and that his radio is too loud. It'll be fine if she did it politely, but apparently she sounded like she's talking to her dog, commanding the taxi driver to listen to what she said. The taxi driver, naturally, got pissed.

This time round, I side the taxi driver. They are just people who are trying to earn a living by fetching us around the island. Why treat them as though they're your dog, waiting to be commanded by you? I respect these taxi drivers. Even though there are very rude ones, there are definitely good ones out there too. Who are the ones who drive you to your destination at any time of the day/night?

Another topic we talked about is regarding Singaporeans now getting married and giving birth late. He did a simple calculation. If you get married at 30, have your first kid at 35, you have to work until about 65 to make sure that you have enough money to get him to a university. And by the time you have your first grandchild, you're probably 3/4 dead.

He also mentioned that he read from the papers that experts once said before that if we get married late, and have a kid late, we will have a generation gap, which sounds very logical. If you were a 20 year old kid, which one would you choose? A 40 year old father, or a 60 year old father? It's so much easier to communicate with the 40 year old one than the 60 year old one isn't it?

There's also the health danger where it can get really dangerous if you conceive late.

I respect this particular taxi driver. He reads newspapers everyday, in order to upgrade his language power and at the same time keep up to date with the latest news in the world. I'm sorry to say that I don't read that much anymore. In fact, I can't even remember when is the last time I read a newspaper.

Oh, and don't go crystal jade for breakfast. It sucks.

Disaster

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Just came back after watching the movie "Poseidon".

In case you guys haven't heard of this show, let me tell you abit about the movie. Poseidon is the name of a luxury cruise, and it happens to be New Year's Eve. The captain was holding a countdown party at the ballroom when a Rogue wave over a hundred feet high hit them, causing them to overturn upside down.

While most parts of the ship were hit badly, the ballroom managed to remain intact, and the captain advised the people to stay calm and remain in the ballroom. A gang of people didn't. They believed that the ship would not be able to float upside down for long, and decided to head upwards to the surface (in this case, it's the bottom of the ship).

Of course, there's the usual problems, difficulties, setbacks, deaths, injuries, close shaves etc. I'm not gonna talk about the movie, in case you guys wanna go watch it.

What I wanna do is to post a question to you guys.

What will you do when a disaster like this hits you? What if you were one of the passengers in the ballroom? Will you join that small gang, or will you wait for help like what the captain mentioned?

I believe most of us will stay put in the ballroom, and wait for help to come. But to think of it, if you are in the middle of an ocean, how long do you think help will come? We are living too comfortably, that when such things happen to us, we won't do anything to save ourselves but rather wait for help to come to us.

I'm not stereotyping singaporeans, but I dare to say this is what we all are. We take things for granted. We think we have a good country, a good government, a good geographical location where we won't have any natural disasters, and a good army that can protect us when any other country tries to attack us.

We need to get out of the we-are-living-a-perfect-life fantasy, and tell ourselves that we are actually a very helpless bunch, that when any disaster strikes us, be it natural or man-made, we will all die.

That's what I think. What about you?

Updates

It's been quite awhile since I last updated the blog. Sorry for the delay. (Hardly anybody reads this anyway :p)

1. Nokia 6280
If you guys know about the Nokia 6280 craze that happened during the long weekend from Apr 29 - May 1st, then good. It just happened that they made use of this long weekend to come up with a promotion for this new 3G phone which looks nice, and functions just as well as any other 3G phone on the market.

The best part of this? I got the phone for only SGD$198! Yes, you've heard it correct. It's SGD$198. And I also have a personalised handphone theme that no one has, all thanks to my dear :)

2. POSB Go! Enhanced ATM Card
This card is a must have. What happens if you went to a restaurant thinking that they can accept NETS, and end up you were wrong, and that the nearest ATM is 5km away?

POSB Go! Enhanced ATM Card can rescue you from those situations forever. With this card, you can use it like a debit card, where the money will directly be deducted from your account. You can even withdraw money from the 900,000 Mastercard ATM machines all over the world! This way, you don't have to worry not having money even when you're travelling overseas!

POSB Go! Enhanced ATM Card. Get it now at your nearest POSB bank outlet.

P.S. Does this sound like an advertisement? :p

3. Hyper active
The time now is 0554hrs. Beside me on the bed is my girlfriend cuddling like a small baby. And on the floor, is Mr Neo aka Mr Cai *cough* Qing, knocked out with his mouth wide open. And me? All thanks to the small little can of red bull and a 250ML bottle of Coca-Cola, I have no signs of being tired.

Another reason might be because of the hours I get to sleep for the past few days. Ever since I enlisted, I've never got more than 10 hours of sleep before, not even over the weekends. But for the past few days, I sleep about 12hours everyday!

4. Bad luck
For the past few months, I've been having bad luck, in mahjong especially. Somehow, whenever I'm waiting for a tile to win big, someone wins it earlier than me with something much smaller. And when I try to win small, someone wins big.

Luckily I've been forced to quit betting in football already, otherwise I wonder what will happen to my predictions. For one, I never guessed that either Middlesbrough and Arsenal would get into the UEFA Cup and Champions League final respectively. Now let's see what happens to Arsenal, now that Middlesbrough has fallen badly.

Oh, yeah. NTU rejected me. Sigh.

5. Old Pals
This has been a month where I happen to meet my old pals. Over at Sunlight, I saw Eugene, Eddie, William and Aaron! It's been so long since I last saw them. Man, I really do miss our old days in school, where we all used to hang out doing crappy stuff, and skipping all lectures to go play LAN or play billard. These are the people who I will never ever forget in my entire life.

Vinson, Weizhi, Eugene, Eddie, William, Weiquan, Aaron, Jason, Yao Chong, Colin (Ah Gua), Eugene Goh (Another Ah Gua), E-Bong, Joan (Sister), Von, Keong, Ken, Lionel, Miko, Tony

Sorry if I missed out anyone.

Home

I'm back. With a vengence. Hahaha just joking.

So many things happened after I came back from Taiwan. I actually went to Zouk! OMG!

But whatever it is, I'm glad that my service for the nation is coming to an end. At least for now.

The only sad thing is that I think I'm again rejected by NUS and NTU for Computer Science. Looks like I'm destined not to get a degree here. Sigh.

And I don't know what the heck is wrong with my dvd rom. It opens and closes by itself! WTF! There's no virus in my computer, and no spyware too!
