Missing

A few nights back, I was watching "Missing" on Channel 5, where they were talking about this guy who disappeared suddenly on the 28th of Feb 1999, and which till now the police has no clue as to where he is, or whether is he still alive.

I've been contemplating what made him leave. Was he abducted? But if he is, why? Why did the people who abduct him not ask for a ransom from his family? Was he worth alot by selling him to other countries? To me, he looks just like a normal guy to me. So why abduct him?

Did he leave willingly? If he did, why? Did he have financial problems? If he had financial problems, wouldn't he starve to death if he left his family just like that, without having any money? Did he have relationship problems? Or on the contrary, he had a girlfriend and they eloped to another country? But if I'm not wrong, there has been no records of him leaving the country. So did he elope using illegal means?

Was it due to stress in school? But if yes, why leave for 7 years? If it was really due to school work, he could have just dropped out from it, and that's it.

Was it because of family problems? Was there another side to the story? Was he driven away from home? And did his parents regret doing so, and therefore claimed that he was lost, hoping that the police can find him?

Now that it's been more than 7 years since he disappeared, he would lawfully be declared as dead. But of course, his parents do not believe that he's dead, and they believe that he's still somewhere in Singapore.

I can't imagine what will happen to me if any of my friend goes missing suddenly, without any trace. Will I let time heal all wounds? Or will I still be bothered by it even after so many years?

Too many questions unanswered.
