Sunday was my eldest cousin, Melvin's wedding. We reached his place at about 9.30am to watch them serve tea to the elderly.
P.S. All these were taken with my 3.2 mega pixel N73
The couple coming into the house and shaking hands with almost everyone. This one is snapped when they greeted my ah ma, who's not in the picture.
Ah, there she is!
First up, the mother and father of the groom. My "da gu" and "da gu zhang".
My "da gu", being the emotional person she is, broke down after drinking the tea, so much so that she couldn't unbuckle the bracelet she prepared for the bride, and required lots of people to help out before the bride could wear it.
I wonder how my ah ma felt after drinking the tea from the eldest grandchild. I bet she felt super happy to see this day, and can't wait to have a great grandchild!
My eldest uncle just refused to sit on the chair, which what reasons I'm not sure. It took all my relatives approximately 5 minutes before he decided to sit down, and within 10 seconds, he stood up and took the tea from the newlyweds. Lolx.
Second uncle, Johnny Chua and wife.
Third uncle, Sunny Chua and wife.
Fourth uncle, Sammy Chua. Wife and daughters at home sleeping I assume. Lolx.
My uncle, Tommy Chua and my auntie Rachel.
Next up, the daughters. My second auntie Nancy Chua and husband.
Last one, Molly Chua. Husband working overseas.
Finally the both of them can sit down and rest their legs. Here, the 2 younger sisters of the groom will now have to serve tea to both of them.
This is Germaine.
This is the younger one, called Elana, whom we all call affectionately call Nana. Wonder what the bride is laughing at.
Wai Sum must have felt damn happy when she heard them greet her "da sao"
Time now for family photos!
Cheeky me.
At this point of time, after Max shot the photo for me, my phone hang! So I missed out on "er gu" and family. Oopsie.
Next up is the dinner. It's held at Rasa Sentosa Resort. Even though the view is very nice, the place is pretty, the venue is just abit out of the way. I had to drive them to the resort, then drive another 5 minutes back to the beach car park, park the car there, and then take a shuttle bus back to the hotel. Weird that such a huge resort has such a small car park. Sigh.
My auntie, my grandmother, and my dear.
Samantha Chua, daughter of my fourth uncle, with my auntie.
Max, with an atittude face, while taking care of ah ma. Haha.
From left: Shirley (4th uncle's wife), Esther (eldest uncle's daughter), a mysterious pair of hands, Rachel, and err.. a relative
Our table number
Interesting?
Waiting for dinner to be served
Caption says it all. Me, Max, and chao recruit Ben
11 prawns in all
Newlyweds giving a speech. Melvin's speech was especially touching, that "da gu" cried again. Both of them thanked their parents for bringing them up, and raising them to who they are today
My "da gu" with the bouquet she received from the groom
My grandmother at the man made waterfall before leaving. The colour makes it look eerie
I look good don't I?
Too bad, all good things come to an end. I had to return the car to the rental company. No more driving. FOR NOW.
