Cheated

I feel cheated! I thought there was going to be a steamboat at my grandmother's place, just like in the past! I was wrong. There wasn't any steamboat, even though there were lots of good food like these.

The only 2 things that were missing are the 2 soups, which weren't ready when I took the photo.

I don't know if it is just me, or it's that this year's Chinese New Year is a bit quiet. It's not as lively as it was in the past. My cousins felt the same way too. I mean, no blackjack, no mahjong? How passive can it get.

Just look at Mr Benedict Cai. He's too bored till he fell asleep!

In case you're wondering, he's Chinese. It's just that because of all his swimming and polo training, he became this black! We're always known as the "black and white" pair.

Look at my grandmother. Doesn't she look cool in this specs?

Tomorrow's the flight to Japan, and I wonder if I brought all the things I need. I've decided to list all down all the things that I brought, and please comment on whether I'm missing out some stuff. Thanks.

- Long sleeve shirts x 4
- Jeans x 2
- Toiletries x 1 set
- Panadols x 6
- Tissue Paper x 6 small packs
- Jacket x 2
- Gloves x 1 pair
- Hat x 1
- Pullover x 1
- Scarf x 2
- Disposable Underwear x 7
- Socks (Can't remember)
- Camera x 1
- 1 256MB Memory Stick for the camera (I know it's small)

I know the most important thing that I currently lack right now, is Yen! I do not have a single cent! I can only pray that the money changer in the airport is open tomorrow, or else I'm dead meat.

So do I lack anything, anyone?

By the way, Happy New Year to everyone! Sorry to the 4e1 people. This year I can't organise a gathering for our class like I did last year, but don't worry. I promise that next year, we'll have a gathering at my house on CNY again alright? By that time, all the guys should have ORD-ed! Yeah! Hail long hair! Hail coloured hair!

Food

Today should be called Food Day. Let me explain why.

Time: 0900 Hrs
Venue: Toa Payoh Fortunate Restaurant

We had our branch breakfast there. It was intended to be a get-together session, and then after that we'll have the day off, due to our hard work for the past few weeks. Mind you, this breakfast has been postponed for 2 months. In the end, it ended up having the officers occupying one table, and we NSFs taking another table. The only regular who sat with us was Ian.

The breakfast was good! We had siew mai, har kow, tang bao, shui jing bao, pai ku, xiao long bao etc. Sorry if you guys can't understand what that means. I forgot the english name for them!

If I remember correctly, we had 98 baskets of dim sum and 15 desserts! The damage? $412.

Don't be put off by the price. It's actually considered very cheap, and you get good quality breakfast. I'll definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to have good dim sum in the future.

Time: 2000 Hrs
Venue: My house

Time for steamboat! We only had 6 adults and 1 kid, and yet the amount of food we have can serve like 15 people! We had prawns, beef balls, chicken meat, duck meat, crab sticks, hot dogs, mushrooms, vegetables, fresh scallops, pork meat, fish balls, and others that I cannot remember or that I didn't eat.

My uncle and my grandmother ate so little! I mean, how can you guys miss out on such good food! In the end, so much food was left, and we had to keep all of them. Luckily most of the food can be kept in the refrigerator, or else that'll be hundreds of dollars wasted.

My dogs had a nice haircut, and had ribbons tied to their hair! They look so cute! Here's my dear carrying my dog. Or should I say grabbing her. Lol.

I do not know why I do look so blur in this pic!

I didn't know that my house can look so nice!

And lastly, here's the food! Of course, there's more, but they're all in the kitchen. Anyway that's my uncle and auntie.

Half Day

The pool session at Lot 1 K Pool with Ian, Chang Qi, Guohong and Guofeng was fun, but more importantly, it was very cold! I think they turned on the aircon to the lowest temperature, and put the fan to extreme high! We were all complaining about how numb our hands were, and how it was affecting our game.

And Ian is good! When can you ever thrash people with them having 6 balls out of 7 remaining on the table, and yet get thrashed the same way too?

I was thinking about this. What if in Japan, I wear 5 layers of clothings, and it still turn out to be something like in K Pool? Then I say the clothings are useless. Since young, I've never been afraid of cold, but rather afraid of heat. Let's hope that I don't get sick during the Japan trip. In fact, I've always loved to stay in a cold country. That's where you get good and fair complexion! Hahaha.

The TV repairman finally sent my television back, but they couldn't fix the vcd player to my theatre system! And the excuse they gave? "Oh, I wasn't the technician who came to remove the tv from your place. Therefore I do not know how to fix it back. If I was the one, I'd definitely make some markings so that I can fix it back for you."

I'm really not sure about this, but aren't they supposed to be trained in this?

I just got Chen Weilian's new album, and I'm gonna give it a 8 out of 10. Support our superstar! Do not support piracy :)

Pre-Japan Preparations

Just got the news that it will be very cold in Japan, due to the snow storm over there! And also because of 1 night's stay at a hotel in Mt Fuji, which means we will have to leave our huge luggages in the coach! I need alot of things! I will need:

- A big bag to carry my things around
- Lots of tissue in case I got flu
- Face cream to prevent face from cracking
- Ziploc bags to keep dirty clothes
- Long pants to wear to sleep
- Probably another coat, in order not to look the same for 7 days
- Another set of thermal wear

Wow! That's alot of things, and we haven't include the spendings for Japan. All the food, shopping and playing. OMG. I'm gonna have so much fun, but at the same time, so broke. Hahahaha.

Anybody got any freelance programming jobs for me? I bet they'll come in handy for me to earn some income. Or anyone has any friends/relatives who needs maths tuition? I accept Primary 6 to Sec 4 :)

Time to go bathe, eat dinner, and sleep. Half day tomorrow!

Tired

2am, and 1-0 to Man Utd, courtesy of a Rio Ferdinand header from a Ryan Giggs freekick.

I'm allergic to dust! While installing the DVD-RW for dear today, I couldn't stop sneezing and mucus just kept flowing out of my nose, like water flowing out of a tap. Something needs to be done to my nose. I should go for some kind of operation to cure sinus while I'm still in the army, in order to pay $0! Well, that's what alot of NSFs do. We try to exploit this "benefit" of the SAF, and go for whatever medical checkup we can think of. Body checkup, dental appointments, wisdom tooth extraction, hospitalisation etc. But that doesn't mean that I do it!

Accompanied dear to Echo Music School for her keyboard lessons, and I could learn the first part of it in 15 minutes! But the same cannot be said for the rest of the song. But hey, I'm doing really well for a Grade 0 alright! Neo looked a bit weird today. He looked like a troubled man. Girl? School? Money? Sex? I don't know.

What does the end of a Sunday mean? The start of a Monday. Theoretically, the start of a new work week. And also, the start of hell. This week should end really fast though. Half day off on Thursday and Friday, reunion dinners on Friday and Saturday, and then it's off to Japan on Sunday! I need to think of something to tell my grandmother on why I'm not going for visiting during Chinese New Year, and instead off to Japan. Telling her that it's a holiday will get me killed. So can someone think of something please?

Time to go to sleep. This blog will only be edited during weekends. Don't ask me why SAF block blogspot :(

Busy

Today has been a real busy day. From Yew Tee to The Adelphi at City Hall, to Hougang Mall, to Yishun, to Tampines and then back to Lorong Ah Soo. I guess that's about 100KM travelled?

Today I heard Jeremaine singing on Yes 93.3FM! As usual, he's still as good, but somehow I think something went wrong in one of the songs. It's just the feeling that he picked the wrong song to sing. But no matter what, he still did very well, and I give him 99/100!

Well, no one is perfect. That explains the almost perfect score :)

Over at Tampines, we saw this cute little looking pair of slippers, and upon chatting with the lady who sells it, who happens to be Cheryl's mother's friend's friend, we found out that these slippers just arrived from Thailand. She designs it herself, and then they send the design to Thailand and get the people there to produce it. Why Thailand? Low overhead costs.
There are 3 different designs (at least that's the number of designs that I saw), and we picked this as this is the cutest.

And also, this design will not be sold in any major shoe stores that you go to in any shopping centre. If you want to get this, ask me.

Mahjong after reunion dinner! Yeah!!!

Edit: I forgot to tell you guys. It costs $9.

200106 - First Post

Again, I'm back to blogging. This time, I can't be bothered to design a website, because I know I suck at it.

Things among us are not good. Boring is the word she came up with. I don't know what to do.

Am I really such a lousy boyfriend?

I love her with all I have. But it's just the things that I do, or rather I don't do, that made her feelings for me turn bland. I'm an unromantic guy, and I do not know how to make things interesting in the relationship. Going out weekly has taken its toll. It has made our relationship boring, at least that's what she feels. It's as though we go out for the sake of it, and not because we want to see each other and be in the company of each other.

I need to do some things. Things that change things for the better. Small things like buying gifts, taking note of what she needs and likes, etc.

But why can't I do it? Am I going to find an excuse and say that army caused me to be like this? Or was I like this since young, just that I didn't know?

What will happen from here? Will it be too unbearable for her? Will she give me, or the relationship, another chance?

I'm feeling very low, very confused, very sad and very angry with myself.
